About me

M. Eduard was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. He attended Lafayette College in Easton, PA where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Eduard was on the soccer club team and a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity where he held several leadership roles including, rush chair, social chair and was on the committee for the annual 5k run to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Eduard was also an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Eduard had two internships during his undergraduate education, at LLI Technologies and STV Incorporated, both engineering design firms.

Upon graduation, Eduard returned to STV Incorporated in New York City, where he would work for the next four years in a project management role. Eduard`s primary responsibility was managing building renovation projects under construction. Over his four years at STV Eduard managed and completed 20 projects totaling over $100 million in client budgets. Eduard was the primary representative of his company at meetings with clients, contractors, and government agencies. Eduard was responsible for ensuring the project ran smoothly, on schedule and on budget, and was responsible for ensuring that any issues that arose were resolved. Additionally, his duties included responding to client change requests, changes required by field conditions, managing a team of 4-5 architects and engineers to coordinate necessary design changes, and presenting design changes to clients including impacts on budget and schedule. Eduard was also responsible for the profit and loss of additional services beyond the scope of the original client contract. During his time at STV Inc, Eduard became increasingly interested in the energy requirements of the buildings he was working on. This interest in energy technology led to a desire to pursue an MBA in marketing to increase the adoption of new energy technology.

Eduard`s desire to pursue the marketing of energy technology led him to the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. Eduard entered Tepper through the Consortium for the Graduate Study in Management and received a Tepper Merit Scholarship. Eduard’s concentrations included Marketing, Strategy and Quantitative Analysis. During his first year, Eduard was elected President of the Tepper Energy Club. As president, Eduard greatly expanded his knowledge of the energy industry and had opportunities to meet professionals from a wide range of companies, which solidified his interests in the industry and desire to pursue a career in energy.

Eduard spent his MBA summer internship at Sungevity, a residential solar energy retail company in Oakland, CA. In Sungevity’s Marketing Department Eduard served in marketing research and analyst role. His work involved forecasting the potential in new markets, analyzing the marketing mix and demographics to better understand customers, increase marketing budget effectiveness, develop new market entry and growth strategies, and performed a sales optimization analysis which was estimated to increase their conversion rate by 50%.

Upon graduation, Eduard hopes to return to the energy industry in a marketing or business analytics and strategy role and continue working on similar projects to those from his internship.
